Dog Cages And Crates

Dog cages and crates are a great way if you need a place to put your pet out of harm’s way, they are relatively inexpensive and you get a few different types like the metal cages and the plastic crates. The crates tend not to be completely enclosed meaning there is nothing physically keeping your dog in the crate unlike the metal or plastic cages these are good if you already have a dog that is trained and knows why you put them in their crate they are supposed to stay there but if you have a puppy they may be a little bit impracticable.

There are a few obvious things you first need to check that some people bypass or forget and later regret it, the first thing to consider is the size of your dog the smaller cages tend to be cheaper and while you can save money getting these they are useless if your dog will not fit into them so always take your dog along with you to check they can comfortably fit in. The next thing to work out is where exactly you are going to put the cage or crate in the house you need to make sure there is enough space all around for it to easily fit and still have enough space for the doors to open this is simple just get a tape measure and measure it all out then you will have the information as to the type of crate or cage you need both the dogs size and the space available in your house.

Dog Cages And Crates Cushions

When you get the cage home its nice for your dog if you add a few blankets or cushions to make it more comfortable don’t put any nice ones in though because the odds are your puppy or dog will chew them up. The younger the dog the better because they find it easier to adapt to their new surroundings and get used to going in the crate when they are scared or unsure this is why so many trainers recommend Dog Cages And Crates some trainers even include them in the training process. Try to remember how quick puppies grow and try to get a cage they can grow into there is no point in getting one that is only just the right size for them now because in a few months it will be to small and you will need to replace it costing you more money.

Before you buy have a quick look at one of the many review sites out there to see what type of crate is considered the best then you will know what to look for when you are in the pet store, after you have everything in place it is just a matter of going and purchasing a crate remember to leave plenty of space in the car otherwise you may have trouble getting it home you may want to look into deliver cost for Dog Cages And Crates before hand to save you some hassle.

Nice hub with a lot of good information. I just trained my 12 week old pup to a cage today. I already had his bedding on the floor in the same area, so when I put the cage there and threw his toys and a treat into it, he followed and then laid down for a nap. You are so right, training is much easier if you do it when they are very young. Thanks for the insight. Up and useful hub
